The Community Childcare Subvention schemes are open to both community and private childcare services, to enable them to charge reduced childcare fees to disadvantaged and low-income parents.
These schemes CCS & CCSP enable community and private providers to offer parents, who meet certain criteria, a reduced childcare fee. There are 4 tiers of subvention available – Band A; (Includes Parents/Guardians whose main income derives from a social welfare payment such as One Parent Family payment, FIS, Disability allowance, etc. plus hold a medical card) – Band B; (Includes parents who hold a medical card or are in receipt of Social Welfare in Band AJ without a medical card), Band AJ; (includes parents in receipt of Job Seekers Benefit/Allowance or Supplementary Welfare Allowance with a Medical Card), Band D; (Parents who hold a GP visit card (over 6+ only).
