Wicklow County Childcare Committee (WCCC) was founded over a decade ago to support the childcare sector in Co. Wicklow – parent’s childcare providers (both community & private) and childminder’s. Our aim is to improve the quality of childcare in the county and we aim to do this by providing support and advice through our dedicated staff, by facilitating workshops and courses on relevant topics ranging from Aistear and Síolta, Record Keeping & Compliance through to Storytelling or Enhancing Your Outdoor Space and by providing a one-stop-shop for information and resources on childcare in the county.
If you have a query or need a specific piece of information, we can usually be of assistance in getting hold of this from the relevant department. Where an issue arises where lots of people aare looking for the same piece of information (a form for example) we try to get hold of this and make it available here on our website, which is updated daily. Check out our News Updates and our Useful Documents section.
If there is a wider issue that you are concerned about, you can contact any of our team here at our office on Kilmantin Hill in Wicklow Town (opposite Wicklow’s historic Gaol) who will be happy to answer your query or find out the information you need where possible. Alternatively, you can contact a member of our Board who will raise your concerns on your behalf. We regularly discuss areas of concern with our colleagues in other City/County Childcare Committees across the country and bring common concerns to the attention of the senior officers in the DCEDIY and POBAL.
Our Board is made up of voluntary members who represent various sectors relevant to childcare in the county and any of them would be happy to pass on your concern. Two Board members in particular represent the private and community providers in the county and are always keen to hear your concerns, ideas or suggestions.
