Dear Early Years Practitioners & Parents,

    Changes to Early Years Inspectorate

tuslaAs you know, Túsla recently issued an update on their forthcoming focused inspections which drew on the report by Dr Sinead Hanafin which identified the areas of highest non-compliance (you can read a synopsis of these and changes to the inspection system by clicking here).

Túsla have issued a revised Inspection Toolkit to show the areas that they will be focusing on. You can keep up to date on the introduction of registration and the recent appointment of the Registrars etc through this page.

As the National Standards and revised Pre-school Regs have not yet been issued, services should work towards the current 2006 guidelines. If you have any questions please do get in touch with us and we will assist as best we can.

New Member of the WCCC Team!

WCCC logoI would like to welcome Jane McNulty as the newest member of the WCCC team. Jane is responsible for all aspects of financial management, compliance and monitoring within the Wicklow County Childcare Committee. Jane has worked extensively throughout the UK and most recently at the Wicklow Montessori School, during which time she attained Fetac Level 5 in Childcare and supported the delivery of ECCE. Marie Cuddihy and Assumpta O’Neill have assumed responsibility for the TEC childcare programmes (CETS, CEC and ASCC) so if you have any queries in relation to these please drop either Marie and/or Assumpta and email.

PIP, Fees Policies, Calendars & Contracts

It’s hard to believe that it’s almost that time of year again when we begin the task of dealing with Fees Policies, Calendars & Contracts but the process for 2015 will differ slightly with the advent of PIP. Although the content of these will be familiar to practitioners the process will be carried out through the PIP online system.

As with the Registration process, the WCCC team will be on hand to support providers throughout this process which will happen from March onwards.
