    Affordable Childcare

Information packs about the  affordable childcare were sent to each childcare service last week, information for parents is also now available on www.affordablechidcare.ie.   If you have any queries please contact us on 0404 64455.

The DCYA and Pobal are holding information roadshows regarding the changes.  The events are in Dublin on 22nd June 6-8pm, The Maldron Hotel, Tallaght and Kilkenny on 28th June 6-8pm in The Newpark Hotel.

More information and booking details can be found here.  Booking is essential.

    Grant Agreements (Contracts)

The Grant Agreements for 2017/2018 are now available on the PIP home page for service providers to review with an accompanying notice from DCYA.

    CCS Plus contracts

Every provider should have automatic access to the new CCS Plus contracts that will allow you to offer the universal payments to parents. If it is not available on your service page please email pipdocuments@pobal.ie with your DCYA reference number and Pobal will upload the contract for you to activate.

    Non-contact time payments

You will have seen a notice on PIP confirming that there will be a payment for non-contact time this summer. We do not have an official date for the payment yet.

Are you moving your service or changing your legal status?

If you are doing either of these you will need a new DCYA number. This can take a bit of time to organise and might impact on your recontracting etc. The sooner you let us know the quicker we can get the process underway. Please contact us if you need assistance with this.

    Fees policies and calendars

You may have noticed that fees policies and calendar links are up on PIP. However Pobal have asked that you don’t use them until they are fully functional. Pobal will update PIP when they are ready to use.

    Service profile v service details

Just to clarify, the service profile is the annual questionnaire that Pobal asks childcare providers to collect national data. Completion is not compulsory, but if services don’t fill in the survey the national picture is incomplete.

You are required to complete your service details in order to go to contract. This may be just a matter of confirming that your details are the same as last year or making minor changes.  If in doubt, please contact us.

    TUSLA CAPA workshops

Tusla Early Years Inspectorate in collaboration with Early Childhood Ireland have announced the roll-out of a support/training workshop for Early Years Providers.  During the workshop, the procedures to be followed in responding to Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA) will be outlined.

The format of the CAPA will be identified and explained and providers will be supported in developing clear, solution- focused Action Plans in responding to non-compliances under the Early Years Services Regulations (2016).

These workshops are free of charge and are specifically developed for Full Day-care settings only. Further training is planned at a later date for sessional providers.

Booking is essential and places are limited. Details of all available workshops and booking form are available on their website.

    AIM Programme

The Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) Programme will be accepting new* applications for children commencing/returning to the ECCE programme in 2017/2018 from Friday 17th May 2017.  Please see your PIP home page.  Pobal are advising applicants to submit applications as soon as possible.  Childcare providers already in receipt of AIM L7 capitation for children returning in September will be eligible for support.  Information on this process will be available on your PIP home page in the coming weeks.
