19th April – Child Care Cost Survey Deadline Extension

Closing date for Childcare cost survey extended to Thursday 19th April due to the Easter break.  Every provider should have received an individualised link to the survey. These links were sent to the Pobal-registered contact. If you have not received a link please contact them at childcarecostsurvey@crowehorwath.ie with your DCYA reference number.

    AIM Inclusive Play Packs

The distribution of the AIM Inclusive Packs commenced Monday 9th April.  The packs are being delivered by Learning SPACE who will email you when your pack has been sent out. For those services who have more than one ECCE room, a maximum of three Inclusive Play Packs will be distributed until every setting has received at least one pack. The distribution of packs will take up to 8 weeks.

The AIM Inclusive Play website is now live.  This website supports your use of the resources in the AIM inclusive play pack. AIM Inclusive Play is the latest addition to the suite of supports provided under the Access and Inclusion Model. AIM Inclusive Play is a set of sensory and educational play resources to support inclusive practice within pre-school settings. This website supports the appropriate and effective use of these resources.

Follow the link to the website below and take a look at videos and resources to support inclusive play in early years services.

Changes in data protection from May 25th

As you are all aware there are significant changes taking place in relation to data protection from 25th May.  Wicklow CCC were hoping to organise an information session for providers but we are awaiting on guidance DCYA regarding any particular issues which may arise for the sector. If and when we received more information we will let you know in the meantime we would advise that you make yourself familiar with the changes please see http://gdprandyou.ie/ as the onus is on the holder of the information to ensure proper procedures are being followed.

The Early Years Sector Profile – Survey opens Monday 16th of April

The Early Years Sector Profile, which Pobal has published for the last 15 years, is a definitive source of accurate and factual information on the sector.  It is used to reflect the reality of current state of the Early Years sector each year.  It is used to plan and highlight areas of work that might need attention and resources.  The more services that fill it in the more reflective of the sector it becomes.

You will receive a PIP announcement shortly and will have a couple of weeks to fill it in.  In 2017 there was an 84% response rate and this year it is hoped to get a response rate of over 90%.  We appreciate that services have been asked to complete a number of surveys/questionnaires recently but this profile is very important to the future planning for sector.   If you have a question or need support please contact us we will be happy to help.  Make sure your service profile is included.
