Higher Capitation FAQ’s
Please be advised that the Higher Capitation F.A.Q. document has been updated today 4th October and can be found here or by logging onto your PIP Portal.
CCS/P Registrations & ECCE Eligibility
Following discussions with the DCYA, it has been agreed that Pobal will review registrations for Services with a Higher Capitation approval for 2018-2019 and/or an AIM Level 1 (LINC) approval for 2018-2019 with children registered for CCS/P who are within the eligible age range for the 2018-2019 ECCE Programme.
This may result in a top up payment to those Services, based on the current capitation rates below:
– Higher Capitation = €11.25 per eligible registration (1 FTE)
– AIM Level 1 LINC = €2.00 per eligible registration (1 FTE)
Pobal will complete a calculation of any payments due for Higher Capitation and/or AIM Level 1 (LINC) for eligible CCS/P children and will process that payment as a special budget in June 2019.
The payment will take into account the following:
As with the previous programme call, this review will be completed in June 2019 to ensure accuracy of calculations across the programme year and to reduce any overpayments.
Closures due to presidential elections will be paid by DCYA and there is no requirement to make up that day. This only affects services that are located on the school premises used for a voting stations during elections on 26.10.2018. The DCYA, at the moment, is not requesting for a FM application.
Farewell and Good luck
We are sad to announce that Marie Cuddihy, Childcare Development Officer for North Wicklow has left Wicklow County Childcare Committee to head to pastures new. Marie has worked with us for the past twelve years and she will be sorely missed. We wish Marie well in her new role with Pobal. We will be recruiting a new Development Officer in the near future once we know our budget for 2019. In the meantime for any queries or assistance please contact us in the usual way on 0404 64455 or email either email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have been informed that the National Siolta Aistear Initiative office will be in contact with the City and County childcare committees in relation to commissioning delivery of the Aistear/Siolta introductory workshops and the Síolta awareness raising workshops in 2019 and this activity will be commissioned where required and where resources allow. Due to this announcement we have postponed the Aistear/Siolta workshop planned for 16th October. As soon as we have more information and know what the plans of the NSAI office are we will let you know.
