    The Department of Children & Youth Affairs (DCYA) will re-open the Learner Fund Bursary (announced early 2017) to Early Years practitioners who have completed a major award in Early Childhood Care and Education at Level 7, Level 8, or Level 9 qualification on the National Framework of Qualifications since the inception of the Learner Fund (2013). This qualification must be on the DCYA Early Years Recognised Qualifications list.

    The bursary will reopen for applications from 16th October until 7th November.

    Childcare Professionals Development Day  – 25th November, Glenview Hotel

    This year our Childcare Professionals Day will focus on the promotion of positive behaviour. Our workshops will include practical strategies to enhance young children’s wellbeing, self esteem and motivation.

     Child Protection

    For those who have completed the ACF Basic level, one day training, a refresher course of 3.5 hours is now available. To avail of the refresher training, the participant must have a certificate that is dated within 4 years of the proposed training date. An out of date certificate will require the participant to complete the Basic level training again.

    The next available date for the Refresher Training is;

    Wednesday November 1st  10am to 1pm in Laragh

    Diversity, Equality and Inclusion

     The 15 hour EDI programme for educators centres around the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Charter and Guidelines for Early Childhood Care and Education.  Participants must attend all four dates to complete the training.  Places are limited to two per service with a maximum of 16 places per programme.  The dates below are the start dates so please see our website for full details.

    Siolta Workshops

    WCCC are running four workshops on Síolta standards this Autumn.  Participants must have attended our Introduction to Síolta Practice workshop in order to attend any of these workshops.  Please specify the dates of attendance on your booking form.
