    7 November, 2017 – Learner fund bursary application deadline

    Applications for level 7/8/9 bursary close at 5 p.m. on this date.

    30 November, 2017 – Capital financial returns submission deadline

    All financial returns for the Early years capital and school-aged childcare capital must be submitted by this date.

    Early Years Sector Profile 2016/2017 launched

    Minister Katherine Zappone yesterday launched the 2016/2017 Early Years Sector Profile developed and published by Pobal for the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.  The report, which presents an overview of the early years sector in Ireland for the academic year 2016 / 2017, is based on survey responses from 3,707 services (84% of all childcare facilities) in May 2017 and information from the childcare ICT system (PIP). The 2016 / 2017 Early Years Sector Profile Report is available to view and download on the pobal website.

    Child protection

    Due to the full enactment of the Child protection bill, we have been asked to suspend all child protection training to allow for the updating of materials and presentations.

    As every service will be required to have a safeguarding statement we will be providing training early in the New Year to ensure you all have the information you need. We will keep you posted on training dates. In the meantime, there are several helpful documents on the Tusla website which you can find here.

    AIM Level 1 Inclusion Coordinator

    The application process for the increased capitation relating to LINC will be open for applications from 9.00am Friday 13th October 2017.  Applications must be made electronically via the Programmes Implementation Platform (PIP), and include a unique Graduate ID issued by Mary Immaculate College and a signed Inclusion Coordinator Declaration and Consent Form.

    Level 7/8/9 Learner Fund Bursary

    Applications for this bursary are open until 7th November.  For further info please see our website for application form.  We are aware that students graduating this month will miss the deadline, however we have been informed by the DCYA that the Bursary application process will reopen in January 2018.



    Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training

    WCCC are still rolling out the EDI training however only have limited places still available in 2017, so we advise you to book asap to secure a place.  For details of the dates and venues please see the training section of our website.

    Childcare Professionals Development Day – 25th November, Glenview Hotel

    Building Relationships to foster positive behaviour – your role as an Early Years Professional.  The day will look at various strategies to promote/support/facilitate relationships and positive behaviours in early years settings.  This annual event is always hugely attended by Childcare Professionals and is also a great opportunity to network.  A three course lunch is included in the fee.
