    Dear Colleagues,

Here are the important dates and information to note for this week

There are no deadlines this week

Please see notice on PIP re Compliance visits for those services that are open during the summer months.

    Changes to Fee Policies

As outlined in last week’s updates we had requested that you hold off submitting your ECCE Fees lists on PIP until you had familiarised yourself with the “How to Guide” as there are some changes for 2018.

Please see here for the How To Guide  – also available on PIP.

It has come to our attention that quite a number of fees lists have been submitted with inaccurate content.

These fees lists will now be moved into queried, allowing you to make amendments once you have consulted the How to Guide.

Following on from this if you need any further assistance please contact us.

     Optional Extras

Please find a link to the DCYA Childcare Funding Programme Optional Extras Guide below –

DCYA Childcare Funding Programme Optional Extras Guide 2018-2019

When drawing up your fees lists remember the following:

Additional charges must be ‘optional’ and parents must be free to opt out or in.

Additional charges must be fair – you cannot charge for something that is normally part of the preschool provision i.e. your fee-paying parents would get without paying extra.

Be specific about what the parents are being expected to pay for. If you are going to charge for late collection, specify what that means.

Bilingual Leaflets for Early Years Practitioners and Parents

This leaflet was developed by the HSE Speech & Language Dept in association with Waterford Childcare Committee.

It contains key messages to support children whose first language is not English and to promote good practices in bilingualism for both parents & early years practitioners.

The leaflet for parents is available in the following languages – Arabic, Czech, Malay, Polish, Portuguese, Russian.

If you require copies please contact us.
