In light of the impending updates to the Children’s First Act due to commence on December 11th the Wicklow County Childcare Committee have made the decision to postpone all child protection training (full day and refresher) until the new year.

As your child protection training is relevant for a three year period it would be more beneficial for services to receive up to date relevant information which we will disseminate once a revised training pack is issued.

Your current Child Protection Certification will be relevant during this transition. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we can assure you that you will be included in the first roll out of this up to date training. New training dates will be decided after Christmas once the County Childcare Committee receive clarity as to how these new updates relate to practice.
