    Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Early Childhood Education and Care

    NFQ Level 8, 3 years, €2,100 per year, 2 nights per week, occasional Saturdays
    The overall aim of the programme is to provide an academic and professional qualification in Early Childhood Education and Care.
    The programme will equip students with the knowledge, understanding and competencies required to provide care and education for young children (0-6 years), in a range of early years settings.
    The general aim is to develop early childhood professionals who have a specific expertise and a specialised knowledge base, competent to deliver and manage quality services to children and families.

    Certificate in Childcare Development

    NFQ Level 6, 13 weeks, €350, 1 night per week (credits)
    The aim of this module is to provide the student with an understanding of the required physical care of a child, in partnership with parents and addresses developmental progress and nutrition.

    Master of Arts, Child, Youth and Family Studies

    NFQ Level 9, 2 years, €3,500 per year, 2 nights per week
    This programme will be of interest to graduates of early childhood education, social studies, psychology, social science, youth and community studies and related disciplines, as well as professionals in the broad social services delivery area (for example, social work, youth work, teaching, community work, early education, family support work).

    Certificate in Advocacy

    NFQ Level 6, 20 weeks, €800, 1 night per week (10 credits)
    The aim of this programme is to allow learners to develop a skill set that will allow them to advocate for their own needs or as an advocate for others.

    Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care

    NFQ Level 8, 1 year, €2,100, 2 nights per week, plus some Saturdays
    This proposed programme will provide an opportunity for students to study for a one year Higher Diploma in Arts in Early Childhood Education and Care.
    This programme is being offered as a direct response to the introduction of the free school year in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECCE scheme) by the Department of Children and Youth Affairs.
    This programme is designed for graduates of Social Care who are working in the Early Childcare sector and who do not hold the necessary qualification for the ECCE scheme.
    Applicants must complete 500 hours of Supervised Professional Practice (it will be an advantage to already be employed within the sector).
    All applicants to this programme will be required to have their suitability assessed by the Garda Vetting Unit.

    Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Youth and Community Work

    NFQ Level 8, 3 year, €2,100, 2 nights per week, plus some Saturdays
    This part-time three year Honours Degree will appeal to those who are interested in gaining employment in youth and community work and related areas. A number of work placements are a key component of the course.. This will include consideration of broad issues such as psychology, social policy, and more specific concerns including the role of youth and community work in promoting social change, creative approaches to working with young people, managing youth and community work and multi-agency working.

    Certificate in Challenging Behaviour

    NFQ Level 8, 13 weeks, €500, 1 night per week (10 credits)
    This course supports managers, staff and carers to develop and implement comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans for people who present with behaviours that challenge.
