Coillte wish to invite you to their first Green Ribbon Let’s Talk, Let’s Walk event at the Coillte Forest Park in Avondale, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow at 3.00pm on Sunday, 5th May 2013.
A Green Ribbon campaign will take place during May 2013 to create a recognisable symbol, which is hoped will raise awareness and improve mental health.
Just like the pink ribbon became a symbol for breast cancer awareness the green ribbon has been established as the international symbol for mental health awareness and is being introduced to Ireland by See Change.
Coillte has collaborated with the IFA, See Change and Mental Health Ireland for a national programme of walks.
Walkers will be given free Green Ribbons to wear, this is an awareness campaign not a fund raising event
Wearing the green ribbon during the month of May is a simple way of showing awareness.
The walk will provide farmers and members of our local communities to enjoy two things which we can all enjoy – Nature and Talking!
To facilitate walkers admission to the car park is free from 2.30pm – 3.15pm.
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing and hopefully we will have reasonably good weather on the day.
When we complete our walk you can enjoy healthy food and refreshments at the Café in Avondale House.
There are picnic benches close to the house and a playground for children.

We hope to see you there,
Very best wishes from all the partner organisations.
