Early Childhood Ireland is hosting a series of member consultations during March 2015 and we would like to meet you and hear your opinions on the Dept. of Education and Skills Qualifications Survey and the recent discussions that primary schools be used to provide afterschool services.
Secondly, if you are passionate about and want to improve supports for children with additional needs then come to our consultation on 25th March in Dublin.
Provincial Consultations on Dept of Education & Skills review
We are holding five provincial events throughout the week beginning the 23rd of March.
The consultations are planned to hear the views of members on the Department of Education and Skills (DES) review of qualifications, education and training programmes. As part of this review, the DES is seeking your views on the quality of the education and training you have completed in early childhood care and education, and how well you feel it has prepared you to work in early years settings.
We would also like to hear from members on the recent discussions about primary schools being kept open for two hours for supervised play and homework clubs.
Attendance at these events is free but places must be booked in advance and are limited to 2 places per service. Bookings can be made by selecting your preferred location below.

National Consultation regarding Children with Additional Needs
We will hold a Round Table consultation meeting on March 25 in the Red Cow Moran Hotel at 7pm.
A key element of the Early Childhood Ireland Advocacy Agenda over the past number of years and over the next 2 years relates to the engagement of children with additional needs in ECCE settings. We are keen to consult with members to find out your views on what solutions will work best both for children and for ECCE settings.
Members who have been advocating in their local area will attend and present at this Meeting and we hope that many members will attend to inform this key element of our plan.
Attendance at this Additional Needs Round Table is free but places must be booked in advance.
