Introducing Early Childhood Ireland’s Real Voices video campaign.

The campaign seeks to underline the grave need for investment in the Early Childhood sector. We speak in these videos to early childhood educators, crèche and preschool owners / managers, parents and students from around the country who talk frankly about the real issues they face at the coalface of low pay, little financial support for training in a sector of high expectations and seriously low investment.

What is loud and clear in all the interviews is the passion and positivity when interviewees talk about the children under their care and guidance.

    Did you know?

    • More than 25,000 people are employed in the Early Childhood sector

    • The average rate of pay in the sector is less than €11

    • 48% of all services have a child with additional needs

    • Ireland currently spends just 0.2% of GDP in the Early Childhood sector, this compares to a European average of 0.7%.
