Barnardos are hosting an online event on Trauma in Early Learning and Care on Thursday the 7th April at which Minister O’Gorman will be officially launching Barnardos’ new publication Building Trauma Awareness in Early Learning and Care. DCEDIY are asking CCCs if they would be willing to publicise the event on their CCC social media as it could be a good opportunity to build trauma awareness within the sector. The event will be particularly beneficial for those settings welcoming children from Ukraine.
Dr Suzanne Zeedyk will be sharing her knowledge and expertise with attendees, and there will also be a number of other presentations, including from Sharon Byrne who will be talking about the importance of being trauma informed in early learning and care, and from a Barnardos EY manager who will outline her experiences of responding to the needs of children and parents who have been affected by trauma.
