Posted on October 7, 2013 by in News Updates

The Association of Childhood Professional is the professional body representing practitioners in Early Years and School Age care and education launched by Minister Fitzgerald in June.  Now that the body is formed it is essential that Early Childhood Professionals get an opportunity to join.

ACP’s mission is to be the representative body of childhood professionals in Ireland.  The five main aims are:

    • To be the collective identity and representative voice of childhood professionals
    • To promote and engage active membership
    • To advocate for and seek support for the initial training and continuing professional development of childhood professionals
    • To advocate and campaign for professional status and equitable pay and work conditions
    • To raise awareness of the value and contribution made by childhood professionals to the lives of children, families and society as a whole

Having the backing to advocate for the sector depends on having a significant membership.  This is where you can help.  To join ACP please complete the application form on their website and forward to ACP together with your membership fee.  Membership is currently being offered at a special introductory price of €20.  Only with your support can ACP bring about the changes that are needed.
